Market of the Month: Downtown Growers’ Market

Jul 7, 2021

The mission of the Downtown Growers’ Market (DGM) is to support and promote local agriculture, small business development, and community engagement in order to better the economics, health, wellbeing, and education of New Mexico residents and visitors.

Celebrating its 25th season this year, the DGM is Albuquerque’s longest-running farmers market. Started in 1996, the Market operates from mid-April through early November on Saturday mornings at historic Robinson Park. Each Saturday from mid-April to early November, Robinson Park is brought to life by the sights and sounds of friends and neighbors who come together around local produce, art, and food. Having grown from its initial 25 vendors to now 200 vendors, the market brings vitality and economic opportunity to the community. In order to provide access to locally grown and raised foods at any income level, the DGM offers a handful of food assistance programs that both extend that access for all customers and pay farmers fairly for their goods. Every Saturday is a celebration of local food, New Mexico businesses, friends, family, and community engagement.
